Started with just one state and a tiny tribal district in Odisha, now they have been operational in 4 adjacent states in India.

The microfinance institution (MFI) Sambandh Finserve Private Limited (SFPL), founded in 1992 as the Regional Rural Development Centre (RRDC), is based in Odisha. An Oikocredit partner since 2018, it serves women from low-income households in the states of Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.

The company is headquartered in Rourkela, a city in the northern part of the state of Odisha. It was converted into an NBFC in 2009. In 2013 it secured an NBFC-MFI licence from the Reserve Bank of India.

SFPL offers microfinance loans under both joint liability and self-help group models for income generation. It also offers loans under the Water and Sanitation Program.

In 2017 SFPL received an IFI Award, as Microfinance organization of the Year 2017 (in the ‘Small & Medium’ category) at the Inclusive Finance India Summit in New Delhi. The award is regarded as the Indian Oscar of microfinance.
